Glenn J. Gillespie is now the New York State Association of Fairs President.

Glenn has been Manager of the Clinton County Fair in Plattsburgh, New York since 2000. He also is the Marketing Agent for the Fair. Sponsorship has risen over 35% since his involvement. His specialty is looking for new entertainment for every age group.

Under Glenn’s direction and with the Board of Directors, the Fair has made many changes in its’ facility infrastructure. A new restroom has been added near the campground with two private showers in each unit. The campers, as well as the vendors and horse show, etc. love this new Bath House. They also added twenty (20) new drive through campsites with 50 amp service. An additional ten (10) campsites will be added for Carnival units this year. A new building, which is attached to the entertainment main stage was added in 2004 which enables them to meet and greet the stars. A full kitchen was installed and meals for the stars are prepared by volunteer staff. Home cooked meals and desserts are served. The entertainers, stage and crew help love this. The local Price Chopper provides most of the food needed as a sponsor.

A new Antique House was built with grant monies in 2003. The house is filled with historical items, they even have working demonstrations.

The Fair continues to grow each year providing educational, agricultural and entertaining values that only a Fair can give.

Glenn is 55 years old and a retired Correction Officer from Clinton Correctional Facility after thirty years of service. His wife, Carol, is also retired from NYS Service at Clinton Correctional Facility as a Keyboard Specialist 2 with thirty-eight years of state service. They have three grown children, two boys and a girl who are married, seven grandchildren – 4 boys and three girls ranging in ages from 17 years old to 17 months old. Glenn has been involved in country music and had his own band for over thirty years. He and his wife love camping.

Glenn is a 4^th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, a charity organization which helps many people. Also, he is a member of IAFE and the NYS Correctional Officers Police Benevolent Association, Inc.

Glenn is looking forward to helping each fair any way he can and will always make himself available. He and his wife plan on attending as many fairs as possible in the upcoming years. Hopefully, he will meet each of you personally before he becomes President.
